Government says it is willing to meet again with the Opposition to discuss legislative matters that will help in the fight against crime.
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young, gave this response following news that the Opposition Leader has written to the Prime Minister requesting an urgent meeting to deliberate on the anti-gang and anti-terrorism bills.
In a letter on Wednesday Kamla Persad Bissessar proposed to the Prime Minister that both sides meet soon and agree on a bipartisan approach to tackling crime.
In December last year the Opposition did not support the government when the anti-gang bill was brought to the parliament.
Minister Young said the government is willing once again to work with the Opposition on this issue.
