Residents along Central and South Trinidad can breathe some sought of relief as the Minister of Local Government promises to have debris and other items removed from in and around their homes.
Citizens who were affected by heavy rains and flooding as a result of Tropical Storm Bret were visited by the Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Kazim Hosein on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, where he assessed the damage to their homes and surrounding areas.
Minister Hosein confirmed today during the Post Cabinet media briefing that several trucks and backhoes were dispatched along with CEPEP workers to assist residents.
Meanwhile Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan is refuting claims made by a councillor attached to the Sangre Grande Corporation that the Ministry did not dispatch any resources to deal with flooding in some parts of the North Coast.
Minister Sinanan said technical crew will have to wait until high level water runs off before clean-up work can begin.
