Government is assuring citizens that the Environment Management Authority will keep the public updated relating to action being taken in response to a report that there is significant pollution of the North and North West Coastline and beaches.
The recently published report was done by the Institute of Marine Affairs.
The issue was raised in the House of Representatives by Opposition Member of Parliament Ganga Singh and posed to the Planning and Development Minister Camille Robinson Regis this afternoon.
Mr Singh wanted to know what measures the Ministry intends to take to mitigate the risk to the public and the environment.
In response Acting Planning and Development Minister, Colm Imbert, noted that the EMA is on top of the situation adding that the public will be informed further on the development in due time.
