One trade union is calling for a start to social dialogue between the government, business and the labour movement.
The request comes from the Oilfield Workers Trade Union.
OWTU Education and Research Officer, Ozzie Warwick, is of the view that the tripartite process is needed at this time especially in light of the economic slowdown, falling oil prices globally and the current recession.
The union official confirmed that a mobilization meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to get critical feedback from comrades on this matter.

The San Juan Business Association is expressing concern about recent job cuts in the private sector. Hundreds of workers have been laid off by foreign firm operating locally Arcelor Mittal. Some employees in the energy sector have also been retrenched.
