There have been reports of a virus that has been affecting citizens throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
Former Minister of Health Dr. Fuad Khan confirmed the virus and revealed that the symptoms closely resemble that of the Zika virus.
He said that symptoms include selling of the joins, conjunctivitis, and rash.
He made the comments on the Power Breakfast Morning Show on Power 102.1 fm yesterday.
He said that Zika cannot be diagnosed without test results.
Khan also advised that persons with the symptoms of the virus should stay away from Aspirin and take antipyretic drugs.
Dr. Khan also commented on the shortage of drugs in the health system.
Yesterday the Health Minister revealed that $245 million had been release for the purpose of purchasing drugs.
The former Health Minister stated that in order to deal with the shortage of drug s the entire supply chain system had to be reviewed.
