Health workers are being assured by the government their new 14 percent salaries will be reflected in their wages at the end of September.
Disgruntled nurses protested outside the Health Ministry’s Park Street, Port of Spain Head Office Wednesday.
They complained about what they described as the delay in payment of their new wages.
However, Finance Minister , Larry Howai, told reporters this afternoon due to administrative work the employees back pay will be implemented in November.
Minister Howai explained that nothing has been done to slow done the process for medical personnel to get what belongs to them.

Health Minister, maintains that he is not opposed to workers protest to highlight matters which them.
His comment comes on heels of Wednesday’s protest outside the Health Ministry’s Port of Spain by nurses.
During the incident a security officer was injured after a glass door was smashed as protesters tried to gain access to the building.
However, Dr Fuad Khan, speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Prime Minister’s St Clair Office this afternoon appealed for responsible conduct during such action.
