Highway Patrol branch says the country has seen a 50 percent increase in road fatalities

Police and fire officersTrinidad and Tobago has seen a 50 percent increase in road fatalities for the year thus far when compared to 2015.

This was revealed by Beverly Lewis, Acting Senior Superintendent of the Highway Patrol branch at the TTPS’ Weekly Police news conference.

According to her statistics for 2015 there were 145 road deaths in 128 fatal accidents a decrease of 12.5% from 2014 and the lowest figure recorded in 14 years.

Statistics also disclose that there was a decrease in the number of driver deaths for 2015 by 35%.
