As the United National Congress election draws near, several key members have been calling for new leadership.
Former Member of Parliament for Oropouche West, Stacy Roopnarine thanked Siparia Mp and leader of the UNC Kamla Persad Bissessar for her hard work.
However in an interview this morning, Roopnarine stated that she believed voters would cast ballots based on what individuals could bring to the party, rather than voting for slate and popular faces.

Oropouche East MP, Dr. Roodal Moonilal lauched his first political meeting at the party’s home base in Reinzi Complex in Couva tagged his speech as “Road Map to a UNC victory for 20/20’, telling supporters that they are the victims of their political defeat.
Highlighting his efforts to be selected at political leader, Dr. Moonilal told supporters the UNC has adopted a losing streak just as the West Indies Cricket team and his urging members to select a leader that will re-build the party stronger than ever.
