There is concern today that local Government representatives are not being treated with the respect that they deserve.
Recently Spiritual head of the Swaha Gyaan Jyoti Mandali, Jaidath Maharaj, sought help from friends and family of former Chaguanas Mayor Natasha Navas, who has reportedly been staying at the temple since Saturday.
Maharaj made a public appeal for help on social media on Monday after Navas refused to leave, insisting that she was ‘waiting for someone’.
In April, media reported that Navas was seen walking along the streets in Chaguanas near to her home at Balmoral Park, and there were concerns regarding her mental wellbeing.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1FM on Wednesday, Jack Warner responded to a question from host Wendell Stevens, on why local Government practitioners seem to be treated with scant regard.
Ms. Navas was introduced to politics by Mr. Warner under the previous administration.
He said that he has been informed by friends that he has been the brunt of negative comments on social media in light of her recent issues.
However he revealed that his conscience is clear where the issue of Ms. Navas is concerned.
