Laventille Technology and Continuing Education Centre has reopened after the fatal shooting in August of a 16 year old student.
Tertiary Education, Fazal Karim, in a News Power Now interview said both students and staff received counseling carried out at the Metal Industries Company Limited Headquarters at Macoya.
He said since the reopening of the facility there has been an increase in student enrollment, with 97 students applying for programs which will commence over the next few months.
Minister Karim said areas relating to security, safety and upgrade have been reviewed and the necessary adjustments made.
He said the building will be upgraded to ensure stronger and firmer security.
