ministry-of-education-tower-672x372We are fed up and frustrated.

This is the cry of teachers at the Early Childhood Care and Education Centers.

The teachers listed issues such as children contracting Leptospirosis and leaking roofs.

They took their frustrations to the steps of the Ministry of Education this morning.

Despite their many attempts to get redress, they stated that several early childhood teachers across the country continue to face

ongoing and sometimes perilous safety and security issues.

The teachers claim that they are yet to receive monies owed to them for work done, yet others in the Education sector according to the

Finance Minister have gotten financial remuneration.

In answer, Minister of Education Anthony Garcia revealed that the teachers were not being ignored by the Education Ministry.

He said that the reason ECCA teachers were not afforded the kind of attention they needed was because of the Education Act.

Minister Garcia assured the teachers that they were working on a speedy solution to their problems via amendments to existing legislation.
