The proposal comes from Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary, Orville London.
Speaking with reporters at the weekly post executive council news briefing, Mr London welcomed the upgrade work being carried out at the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport.
However, Mr London added there is need for exploring the possibility of a new airport on the sister isle.
He says the move if implemented will put the island in a better position to properly service bigger airlines.
