The Joint Trade Union Movement reveals official correspondence was received from the Office of the Prime Minister regarding a requested meeting between the Prime Minister and leaders of the three Federations.
It says the requested meeting is carded for today at 2 p.m. at the Office of the Prime Minister.
In a media release JTUM indicated that leaders of the Trade Union Federations have confirmed that they will be attending the meeting.
On August 4th following their mass march and rally in Port- of- Spain, trade union leaders requested a meeting with the Prime Minister.
They also gave Dr. Rowley a deadline of Friday August 18th to respond to their request.
Trade unions have claimed that the workers have been made to feel the brunt of the economic situation and are the victims of job cuts.
