MP for Caroni Central Bhoe Tewarie is responding to reports in the media that he is calling on citizens to riot on the day of local elections.
Reports indicate today that the Caroni Central MP encouraged citizens to exercise their democratic right by causing a ‘riot’ using their votes at the upcoming Local Government Election on November 28, 2016.
In a post to social media, Dr Tewarie reiterated that citizens should ‘send a message’ to the People’s National Movement (PNM) by voting for the United National Congress (UNC).
However speaking with News Power Now this morning Dr. Tewarie explained that he was simply playing on the words used recently by the Minister of Finance Colm Imbert.
He said that based on what was written in his post he felt it difficult to believe that persons who read it could consider that he would mean anything negative by the comments.
