Murder toll continues to rise

CRIME NEWSThe Country’s murder toll increased as two men were murdered in separate incidents on Friday night.

Around 8pm on Friday 26 year old Keon Griffith and 24 year old Martin King were liming at Upper Mapplands, Laventille when several loud explosions were heard.

Upon investigations King was found lying in the roadway suffering with gunshot wounds.

Griffith could not be found despite searches by Police Officers and family members.

He was found lying in a track near his home just after 8 am yesterday.His body bore several gunshot wounds
In another incident, 30 year old Matthew Weekes was shot at his home at Sea Trace, Bagatelle around midnight.

Reports indicate that a lone gunman entered the house and shot Weekes several times before fleeing the scene.

Weekes’ girlfriend was said to be uninjured during the incident.

Investigations into both murders are continuing.
