Jason Khan, who was shot dead in a confrontation with police on Friday last, had already made up his mind to die after he found himself surrounded by the lawmen in a house in Sangre Grande that morning.
Khan was killed during an exchange gunfire when officers stormed the building in which he was hiding.
Khan was being sought by the police for the murder of father and son Ryan and Lloyd Ramkissoon, whom he shot on May 13.
He had been on the run since that incident in which relatives claimed yesterday he was acting in self-defence.
At the Forensic Science Centre in St James, Port-of-Spain, yesterday, relatives who described Khan as a humble man, defended him, saying the Ramkissoons had attacked him with a cutlass and that he shot them in self-defence.
