Spokesperson for the group attorney Nafeera Mohammed stated that she received information from an official which has them worried.
It has now been 79 days since the Trinidad and Tobago nationals have been detained in Venezuela, and Ms. Mohammed has stated that, according to Venezuela law that’s more than three weeks longer than the time period for anyone to be held without being charged.
She disclosed that she was in receipt of official documents from the Venezuelan court, representing correspondence from the T&T Government that implicated the detainees in nefarious acivities.
According to Ms. Mohammed, the muslims who are being detained in Venezuela have all receives certificates of good character which confirmed that they did not have any convictions.
She asked that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago get involved to help correct the situation.
