NEW SEPARATE CHUTNEY SOCA MONARCH FOR SOUTH PATRONS?

A group of concerned business persons in the Southland are counteracting the move of Southex Promotions, to take the Chutney Soca Monarch competition from its home in South Trinidad, to Port-of-Spain this year.

The group which is headed by Dr. Vijay Ramlal is prepared to host a separate competition on February 4th and already, the estimated cost associated with the event has amounted to $3.5 million dollars.

During a media conference on Monday, Dr, Ramlal said the group has acquired the financial support of a few business entities already, and they plan on approaching government for further assistance.

With only three weeks to pull off the show, which is called “the 2012 National Carnival Chutney Soca Monarch competition of T&T” Mr Ramlal is confident it would be accomplished and said that the Southern carnival staple would not be a failure.
