Watson Duke says his intention to swim the distance between Tobago and Trinidad, is not a theatrical act. He assures, it’s all about the people of Tobago.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast morning show on Power 102.1FM this morning, Mr. Duke- the Minority Leader of the Tobago House of Assembly said his decision to swim between the islands, is meant to highlight the difficulties being faced by the people of Tobago. His move comes as Tobago’s ferry transportation has suffered major hindrance for months. The air bridge too, many have argued, is not what it should be.
During a news conference in Tobago yesterday Duke stated that he intended to make good on his promise to swim from Tobago to Trinidad in protest against the unreliable inter-island ferry service, as well as the deficiencies in the procurement process for the Ocean Flower 2 cargo vessel.
The morning, he said he’s well aware of the perils he will face as he embarks on this swim, venture, however he assured that preparation is ongoing. The THA Minority leader says he expects a lot of support on Monday.
