With the recent announcement by U.S President-elect Donald Trump on his immigration policy, head of Vision on Mission, Wayne Chance said illegal immigrants have already been making their way back to Trinidad from the United States.
Chance’s, Vision on Mission, is house for rehabilitated persons who are in need of a turn around after spending time incarcerated.
Chance said T&T already has a high number of people being deported and they are being brought back on chartered flights every three to four months.
He said he makes several trips to the airport to pick up persons, sometimes up to ten individuals.
He also said the majority of the deportees return home with convictions for serious crimes such as murder, aggravated assault, drug trafficking and gang-related crimes.
Chance said that the Vision on Mission facility in St Clair has a capacity for 30 persons and already for this year 32 “direct deportees” came to the programme.
