The National Health Card has been launched by the People’s Partnership Government. The launch took place yesterday at Gaston Court in Chaguanas.
In her address to the media, Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar said the health card will deliver more efficiency in the country’s healthcare system and noted that CDAP recipients would be the first to be registered.
On the heels of the launch of the card however, the Opposition Leader, Dr. Keith Rowley, during a public meeting in Maloney last evening, said the concept of the health card and the benefits that would be derived, was a concept delivered in 2010 by then Health Minister, Jerry Narace, under the PNM government.
He went on to question allegations of a $35 million dollar contract awarded to a company to manage the system
