OWTU President says trade unions to meet tonight

President General of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union, OWTU, Ancel Roget, says trade unions will meet tonight to discuss reports that the Prisons Service Association is planning to accept Government’s five per cent wage offer.

Mr. Roget spoke with reporters after a day of fasting with his comrades at OWTU’s Paramount Building headquarters, San Fernando.

Taking part in the fast was Government Senator and president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions, FITUN, David Abdulah.

Asked about reports that 94 members of the Prisons Service Association had voted to accept the five per cent offer, Roget said he would not engage in speculation or rumour.
