Plans to build a proper road from Sangre Grande to Toco have been outlined by leader of the opposition People’s National Movement, Dr. Keith Rowley.
Speaking at the party’s town meeting in Princes Royal Park in Arima last night, Dr. Rowley addressed traffic woes in the country, and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to a mass transit system inkeeping with feasibility studies.
Dr Rowley said he was recently in Valencia where he outlined a plan for a comprehensive commitment to provide an A-class road from Valencia to Toco to a port in Toco where travellers can embark a vessel bound for the sister isle.
While addressing Arima constituents Dr. Rowley introduced 12 new candidates who will be contesting seats in the East.
The opposition leader said he intends to broaden the responsibilities of Local Government and increase resources.
