“Don’t split the votes”
This is the message being sent to citizens by Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, with regards to the upcoming October 21st local government election.
Speaking at the People’s Partnership presentation of local government candidates at Harris Promenade, San Fernando, on Monday night, Mrs. Persad-Bissessar again dismissed claims by I.L.P. Interim Leader, Jack Warner, that there is a cabal operating within the coalition government.
The PM told supporters the government will ensure the country’s resources were enjoyed by all citizens and communities, insisting a split in the upcoming poll among the major political parties will work in favor of the Opposition People’s National Movement.
The Prime Minister then repeated her call for Mr. Warner to clear his name regarding corruption allegations against him, as stated in a report by the Sir David Simmons Chaired CONCACAF Integrity Committee.
