San Juan Police on Sunday shot and killed a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a 56 year old man earlier this month.
Reports state that officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) shot and killed 26-year-old Manuel Hyland at Sunshine Avenue shortly before 9 a.m.
Hyland was wanted for the murder of Hughwill Sargeant, who was shot dead at Bagatelle Road, Santa Cruz, on September 2.
Officers said they had received reports of two men in a car armed with guns in the San Juan area.
Upon going to Sunshine Avenue, police said they spotted the vehicle and attempted to approach the men, but they were fired upon.
Officers said they returned fire, shooting Hyland.
He was placed in the police vehicle and rushed him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The second man escaped.
