Police officers attached to the Northern Division Task Force conducted several anti-crime exercises in the Maloney, San Raphael, St. Joseph and Tunapuna areas on Saturday.
One search warrant was also executed.
During the exercise, five persons were charged, among them, a 63 year old Todds Road, Chaguanas resident, detained for the possession of a homemade shotgun.
The team of officers also seized 417 grammes of marijuana during the exercise.
Investigations are continuing.
Meanwhile in the South Western Division a party of offices conducted anti-crime exercises in the La Brea, Oropouche, Penal and Point Fortin areas. One semi-automatic nail gun, 2 air rifles, one 16 gauge shotgun, 6490 rounds of .22 ammunition, 50 rounds .25 ammunition, and 230 rounds of .27 ammunition were seized.
Two men ages 29 and 69 years of age, were arrested and charged for the offences.
A 40 year old man was also charged for possession of 1 rifle and 21 rounds of .22 ammunition.
