On the heels of Nicole Dyer’s resignation from the Congress of the People political party, one political analyst says her move was expected.
Dyer, who was the party’s chairman, resigned on Sunday, saying the COP has been sidelined by the main partner in the coalition People’s Partnership, the United National Congress.
She also condemned COP political leader Prakash Ramadhar for not standing up against the coalition partners in support of the minority party.
Today, political analyst, Bishnu Ragoonath told News Power Now, the situation will pose no real threat to the stability of the people’s partnership government.
He noted that it is however important that the COP maintains its position within the coalition government.
