The advice comes from Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce President, Richie Sookie.

Speaking in a News Power Now interview this afternoon, Mr Sookie admitted that while  race has been used in the past to gain political mileage the time has come for this practice to stop.

On Saturday the Chamber will hold its first Emancipation Day Dinner at Signature Hall, Longdenville Main Road, Chaguanas.

Mr Sookie believes the event is a chance for the business community to honor cultural traditions and highlight the progress of our society from slavery and indentureship to a thriving multi-cultural, multi-religious country.
