The update comes as heavy rainfall prohibited the usual afternoon influx of voters at polling stations.
EBC Communications official, Dominic Hinds, in a statement issued this afternoon, noted that Trinidad will see polls close at 7pm, one hour later than initially broadcast. Hinds said the decision is taken to facilitate electors adversely affected by the weather conditions experienced today.
Meanwhile, the inclement weather condition this afternoon has also led to the allowance of use of the Priority Bus Route, to all motorists.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service notes that the PBR will be open to all motorists until 12 midnight tonight.
