The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago says it has to restart the procurement process in search for a passenger vessel to service the inter-island route.
It explained that this move has become necessary following the latest development surrounding the Ocean Flower.
Allison Lewis PATT Chairman speaking during the Facing the Issues Programme this afternoon confirmed that the contract with the owners and agents of the vessel had been terminated after it failed to meet stipulated requirements.
She noted that the Port Authority has to source another vessel to satisfy the demands of the sea bridge between the islands.
On another issue Ms. Lewis said checks done found there were no collusion between the owners of the vessel and any minister or person attached to the government.
The PATT Chairman also provided some details on status of the two fast –ferry vessels the T&T Express and the T&T Spirit.
