Even though a decision was made to overturn the injunction preventing President Anthony Carmona and the Judicial and Legal Services Commission from appointing two new judges, they are today still unable to appoint them.
This is because of an appeal that was made at the end of the court matter.
The ruling came around 4 pm on Tuesday and follows an emergency hearing which started at 7 o’clock on Monday and ended around 4 am yesterday which resulted in the granting of an injunction to prevent the appointment of the two judges.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning Attorney Gerald Ramdeen confirmed that the injunction was overturned and that an application for leave was made which will be heard next week.
He said that the matter is a serious one that affects the entire composition of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission.
