Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar in her message to United National Congress supporters last evening at Massy Stores compound in the Diego Martin East constituency said that the People’s Partnership Government has done a better job during its five year tenure.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar continued by saying that she will lead the People’s Partnership to victory on September 7th and take the country forward for the years to come.
Meanwhile former Senate President Timothy Hamel-Smith encouraged citizens on Monday to spoil their ballots to show disgust with the current political landscape and parties.
In an interview with Power 102.1fm on Thursday, Hamel-Smith said that by citizens spoiling their ballots, it will send a strong message to the major parties involved.
One political leader, who did not sit well with Hamel-Smith’s utterances, was the leader of the United National Congress and UNC candidate for Siparia, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bisssessar.
Persad-Bissessar urged citizens not to spoil their ballots, as she said our forefathers fought for citizens to be able to exercise their right to vote.
