This country’s Prime Minister will lead discussions in Jamaica today on the regional threat posed by the Islamic State in today’s meeting between CARICOM members and US President, Barack Obama.
Mrs. Persad Bissessar yesterday arrived in Jamaica where, in meeting with reporters, she highlighted the need for such focus.
Mrs. Persad Bissessar’s yesterday commissioned this country’s diplomatic high commission building in Jamaica, as she arrived on the island ahead of today’s bilateral talks with CARICOM member countries.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony yesterday, Mrs. Persad Bissessar said the event was a symbolic one as it appropriated punctuated the belief and mission to ensure that even as a long history of good relations is enjoyed, more is done to enhance the relationship between CARICOM nations.
Meanwhile, on the issue of immigration unease between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, Mrs. Persad Bissessar assured that more would be done to ensure that all is ironed out between the CARICOM nations.
