PSA instructs BIR workers not to carry out duties

Board-of-Inland-Revenue (1)The Public Services Association is again instructing Board of Inland Revenue workers in Port of Spain not to carry out their duties at Trinidad House.

The PSA claims that the building has failed to meet occupational health and safety standards.

Union President, Watson Duke, in a News Power Now interview explained that BIR employees on Monday omplained of a foul stench at the location.

He added that upon investigation a dead rat was found.

However, speaking in the parliament recently on the matter Finance Minister, Colm Imbert said, that there was no evidence of a rat infestation problem at the location and dismissed reports from the PSA that workers fell ill because of the situation.
