PSA President, Watson Duke says his cell phone was never returned to him after being arrested by police

Watson Duke wants his cell phone

Public Service Association’s President, Watson Duke

Watson Duke wants his cell phone returned to his lawyers.

The Public Service Association’s President made the statement after he appeared at the Port of Spain Magistrates Court on Thursday, to answer to five charges relating to an allegation of rape and indecent assault.

His lawyer has argued that the cell phone may have credible information that may contribute to his defense.

Mr. Duke turned up for court on Thursday morning for the second time after he was granted bail in the sum of $250, 000 on May 16.

Duke’s lawyers argued that when the PSA President surrendered to police on May 12 his cell phone was taken by investigators.

They stated that the phone was never returned.

The appeal was made after 9:30 am when Duke appeared before Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayers- Ceaser in the Eighth Court.

After his appearance Duke sought to explain why his cell phone should be returned to his lawyers.

He also stated that he was comfortable with how the case was being handled by his Attorneys.
