Fired chairman of State-owned Caribbean Airlines (CAL), Rabindra Moonan, will today (Monday) officially take up the chairmanship of another important State agency, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
This comes little over a month after his departure from CAL.
Earlier this month, Dr. Moonilal, confirmed Cabinet had appointed Mr. Moonan as HDC Chairman, but he was yet to receive his instruments of appointment from President Anthony Carmona.
On May 17, Finance Minister Larry Howai fired the majority of the then CAL board, including Moonan after allegations surfaced that then CAL vice-chairman Mohan Jaikaran may have abused his position to promote private business interests.
Mr. Howai had admitted there were lapses in corporate governance under the Moonan board.
