With four traffic fatalities in under twenty four hours, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is warning citizens to be careful on the nation’s road.
Coordinator for the Road Safety Project, Brent Batson in an interview this morning says the problem with this festive season is a combination of all the risk factors that contribute the road fatalities.

He says that with reference to the speed guns, the draft legislation is supposed to be tabled soon, in order to begin the process for the officers to be able to deploy out with them.
However the police have increased patrols at certain times to deal with the issue of speeding.
Batson also says that the police can’t do it alone, members of the public need to take responsibility for their driving and be responsible.
He revealed that many times the public blame the police for doing their job, not accepting that when they drink and drive they are part of the problem.
