Specific groups of employees of RBC Royal Bank of Canada Ltd will not be reporting for work this morning.
This is after being offered Voluntary Separation or VSEP and Voluntary Early Retirement programmes.
Reports quote the bank as stating that there was no strike action by its employees and that its branches had been operational yesterday.
The bank further assured that the strategic plan was shared with employees before-hand to ensure a smooth transition both for the bank and for employees.
This was also to assure that the bank could continue to offer service to its customers at its branches.
The bank reportedly revealed that it had embarked on a strategic plan to merge its operations at its Chaguaramas branch to its West Mall branch as well as its Carlton Centre.
The bank also reportedly stated that its clients would also be communicated to, about its strategic plan for the future so that confidence in the bank would not be eroded.
