This as the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association is condemning the delay in the payments to the retired teachers.
TUTTA says the retired teachers left the teaching service over the past two years and many of them sent in their applications more than a year before they retired.
However TTUTA says that despite repeated checks with the ministry the teachers are yet to receive any payments.
The Education Ministry is blaming a shortage of trained support staff and a chaotic system of record keeping for the problem.
TTUTA is demanding that the Ministry does all that it can to rectify this situation.
This morning’s protest is expected to begin at 10am.
