Imam Yasin Abu Bakr was among those who viewed the body of 51 year old Selwyn Robocop Alexis, yesterday, before he was laid to rest. The Muslim funeral was not without chaos however, as reports state grave diggers were threatened by a member of the so called Unruly Isis gang, who ordered that they close the grave, if they wanted to remain with their lives in tact.
The men told reporters that the subsequently contacted the police, after the assailant had left them and were later protected by officers who remained with them as they carried out their grave digging duty.
Meanwhile, Imam Yasin Abu Bakr, who it is rumoured, is also a target of the Unruly Isis gang, yesterday told the media that he sees no reason for further discomfort to be mounted on residents of the Enterprise, Chaguanas community, with a proposed lock down of the area.
Officiating the funeral service yesterday, Imam Taulib Searles called on residents of the community to understand the reality of what has happened and strive to do better for themselves and the community.
Alexis was among three men killed on Sunday afternoon while at his Freedom Street, Enterprise business-place.
