A team of officials led by Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Dr Lovell Francis, visited the Rousillac Community Centre where they met with parents and staff of the Rousillac SDMS Hindu School.
The main objective of the meeting was to ensure the resumption of classes when the school term opens on September 5th, 2016.
Classes were disrupted for the majority of last term after parents kept their children away from the Rousillac Community Centre because of claims that it was lacking in certain infrastructure to accommodate their children.
Parents also kept their children away from the centre to protest against the non-completion of the new Rousillac SDMS Hindu School.
All relevant parties agreed that classes should be resumed when the new school term begins, and were told that upgrading of the centre is scheduled to be begin on Monday August 8th .
Some of the works scheduled to take place are the installation of air-conditioning units, exit doors, a fire alarm, upgrading of the electrical system, sealing of cracks and cleaning of the cesspit regularly.
