The Prime Minister has told the parliament that the Sandals Hotel Chain in recent times has concentrated its energies in other areas in Barbados and attended to properties damaged by hurricanes which impacted the Caribbean.
Dr. Keith Rowley says in spite of this development the government is still interested in the pushing through with the proposed Sandals Hotel Project for Tobago.
He reiterated that the government has signed a Memorandum of Understandings with Sandals.
In it there is an agreement that if the facility is made available that Sandals will brand it and provide management operations.
Dr. Rowley said the government is doing the necessary groundwork to ensure that should Sandals renew its commitment to the project some progress would have been made.
