A 33-year-old security guard has been charged with larceny of over $500,000.
The security officer in question, was one of the persons detained last week following a robbery at the Port-of – Spain Branch of Western Union, where the money was stolen.
The man was also charged with criminally damaging the safe in which the money had been secured, valued at $6,000, and for the wasteful employment of police time.
The security officer is expected to be brought before a Port of Spain Magistrate tomorrow to answer all three charges.
Defence attorney Fareed Ali is representing the accused.
Cpl Williams is the complainant in the matter, having laid all three charges.
