President of the Public Services Association, Watson Duke, is claiming that Government is looking into plans to have soldiers do the jobs of Immigration Officers so as to prevent a reoccurrence of the situation on Sunday, which led to delays for passengers arriving at the Piarco International Airport.
Reports indicate that just two officers came out to work out of the 15 that were rostered to work.
Speaking on Power 102.1 FM, Mr. Duke said if this is true, there is no way that it could work.
He added that this arrangement will raise more questions than answers.
Calls by News Power Now to the Minister of National Security, Edmund Dillon, to verify the claims went unanswered.
