Former Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan is telling the government to tell the public that health care will not be free at the Couva hospital.
In his budget presentation, Finance Minister Colm Imbert revealed that the hospital will be opened using a public/private arrangement.
However speaking with news power now this morning, Dr. Khan said private investors will not do it for free.
The former minister also expressed his disappointment in the budget with regards to the health sector.
Dr Khan said he is awaiting the budget debate to hear more from the health minister Terrence Deyalsingh.
