A June time line is given by the state to pay police officers their outstanding arrears or back pay.
However, the association representing them believes there is need for greater urgency to deliver on the promised one million dollars compensation to the families of slain officers killed in the line of duty.
President of the Police Social and Welfare Association, Inspector Anand Ramesar, gave the update in an interview with the media this afternoon.
Mr. Ramesar was part of a meeting held today in Port of Spain with various heads of security agencies and National Security Minister, Edmund Dillion.
The provision of housing for police officers in areas deemed crime hot spots was another topic deliberated upon.
