State Oil Company Discontinues Legal Action Taken Against its Former Executive Chairman.

Arttorney General (AG) Faris Al-Rawi yesterday announced that State oil company chairman has discontinued legal action taken against its former executive chairman Malcolm Jones in the controversial World Gas to Liquids Limited (WGTL) project, which was started under the former Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration.

The Attorney General said this country is now facing a hefty legal bill of approximately $3.2 million regarding this failed claim against Jones. He further disclosed that $44,772,117.56 is so far being paid to five lawyers in the Petrotrin vs Malcolm Jones; WTGL; Eteck; and Udecott matters which started under the former government.

The AG had been addressing a news conference at his Ministry’s Cabildo Chambers. He said Petrotrin’s new board decided to discontinue the claim on the basis of legal.
