Calls made to allow students to stay away from school entire week of Carnival.

NEWS GRAPHIC 15There have been suggestions from several quarters that students should be allowed to stay at home from school the entire week of Carnival.

To compensate for this supporters of the idea have suggested subtracting a week from the July/ August holidays.

In an interview with News Power Now this morning, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association Devanan Sinanan has stated that while this was not a new idea, it required consultation.

He said that there was an academic timetable that had to be considered in making such a decision.
