The main suspect in the murder of 30-year-old Zaquius Daniel remains in police custody being questioned by officers from the Homicide Bureau.
Daniel was the first person to be killed in Tobago for the year.
The suspect, said to be from Toco, was held shortly after the incident which occurred on Friday night.
An autopsy is expected to take place today to confirm the cause of death as there are multiple marks of violence on Daniel’s body including what appeared to be gunshot wound to the head and stabbing injuries.
Daniel was killed around 10:30pm on Friday near the Livewire Bar, in Lambeau, Tobago, during a confrontation with a group of men.
He lived a short distance away from the spot where he was killed.
