Teachers abandon classes citing unsafe conditions at Claxton Bay primary school….

Teachers at the Union Presbyterian Primary School in Claxton Bay have decided not to attend classes at the institution, citing health and safety concerns.

Public Relations Officer of the School’s Parent Teachers Association, Crystal Luke confirmed this development in a News Power Authority interview this afternoon.

Last week, several parents kept their children away from classes complaining that their loved ones could not focus in an environment they say is unfit for learning.

Ms Luke is hoping the matter is expeditiously addressed by the relevant authorities.

However, she did confirm the teachers decided to go to a nearby building but said the facility was unable to properly accommodate both staff and the students.
